🔗 Share this article Vinted Users Share Frustration About Size Changes Members of the platform have expressed outrage due to a modification that led to items being listed as the wrong size. The second-hand shopping app has revised its sizing categories for female and kids' apparel failing to inform every member regarding the update. Online Platforms Response Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media saying Vinted listings now show a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration. The platform stated the revised method more closely matches similar services. They have suggested members to check their listings and manually change the size where appropriate, resulting in member annoyance. Size Classification Updates Previously, the sizes had both one number and one letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L was previously a 12 but is now a UK 16-18. User Accounts One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Another user, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were displaying on the service as size 20–22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she stated. Necessary Adjustments A different user, based in Derby, explained she became annoyed because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizing for "all her products". "This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount following partial earnings loss," she explained. Platform Context The app has more than 100 million users, comprising 18 million UK members. It has proved a popular alternative compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change within the service has received backlash: previously, the platform withdrew an update concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
